Use your experience and voice to help change the system by volunteering as a Public-Policy Advocate! CAP’s Public Policy & Advocacy Program is looking for people living with or affected by HIV, LGBTQ+ people, people who are experiencing or have experienced houselessness or housing instability, and health professionals to participate in meetings with policymakers and testify at public hearings as needed.

Just provide us with a little information about your lived and/or professional experience and where you live (so we can determine which elected officials represent you) and we’ll match you with opportunities as they come up! No experience with advocacy? No problem! We’ll provide training and support to make sure you feel confident speaking up.

Do you like combing through the free section of Craigslist, or finding free piles of clothing throughout the city? We are looking for team members to work together to source, clean, and deliver clothing to various "free stores" associated with CAP throughout the city.

 

Volunteers will be formed into a committee and take on one or more of the following roles:

- Pickup of donations
- Laundry duty
- Drop off of donations
- Locating of donations
- Outreach for donations

Special Note: this program is in planning stages, once enough volunteers sign up, a committee will be formed!

Cascade AIDS Project has opportunities available to serve on its Davis Street Community Advisory Board (CAB). Our residents sometimes need a companion to accompany them when they go to doctor appointment throughout the community. Contribute your patience and organizational skills to keep residents focused, organized, and punctual. This is an on-call volunteer position so the schedule will vary based on patients’ appointments, as well as the duration of the treatment and transportation. Medical transportation is provided through Ride to Care.
